The Iraqi government has rescheduled a nationwide census for October 24 2010. It should have taken place this coming October but wasn’t because of fears that it could “stoke tensions” between the Kurds and Arabs in the disputed territories. A committee will be set up to “resolve differences” between the various communities so that it can go ahead next year. Another year, another postponement and another committee. This latest update means nothing at all.
